Workshop Collection

Hello all!
I am here today to share my latest creation for
using this month's 'Workshop' Collection

This collection is a grungy, cog filled collection,
perfect for the boys in your life!

I have started by making this background page my own.
I have used the 'Linear Lines Template'
and the 'Clear Stamp Set', to add some texture to my page.

I have used the 'Subway Texture Decorative Die'
to die-cut these awesome subway pieces.

I have then started to build up my layers,
using some of the stickers from the 'Sticker Book',
and some of the 'Collectables'.

For some of the cogs, I have used cardboard to add dimension.
I have also layered some of the stickers onto the collectable cogs.

I have added some word stickers and tags from the collectables.
I have finished with this gorgeous Curio layered onto some tags.

I hope you like what I have created.

Until next time!

'I Choose Happiness' Canvas
for Bad Girls Couture

Hello all!

I'm back today to share a canvas I have created for

'I Choose Happiness'

I have started with a balnk canvas I had at home.
I have sealed it with a coat of 'Haute Mess Gesso'.

I have then used a stencil and 'Haute Mess Molding Paste'
to stencil a pattern onto my canvas.

I have then add some colour using my 'Haute Mess Acrylic Paints' in
'Drop Dead Gorgeous', 'Sweet Candy Kisses' and 'First Crush'.
I have mixed them with water to get a natural flow on my canvas.

I have then used papers, elements and die cuts in co-ordinating colours,
to build up a focus for my canvas.

I hope you like what I have created.

Until next time!

Mandala Wind Chime Art Journal Page
for Scrap Matrix

Hello all!

I'm here today to share an Art Journal Page that I have created for

This month, our challenge is Mandala / Zentangle theme,
this is my take on the challenge.

I have created this page in my 'Dylusions Creative Journal - Large'.
I have sealed my page with a coat of 'Dina Wakley Media Clear Gesso Medium'.

I have then used my 'Red Tin Roof Doily #4 Large' Stencil,
and 'Finnabair Modelling Paste' to stencil the mandala shape onto my page.

I have then used my Distress Ink Pads in 'Peacock Feathers', 'Broken China',
 'Weathered Wood' & Faded Jeans'
that I have stamped onto some plastic packaging and added water to it.
I have then smeared this over my page.

I have then used the same technique with my Distress Ink Pads,
in 'Picked Raspberry' and 'Wilted Violet'
You can see that there is an area that I must have missed with my Gesso, doh!
I will cover that later.

I have then traced around my stenciled mandala, with a black pen, to define it a bit more.
I have then added some more of the same colours to a piece of white cardstock.
I have then drawn own some feather shapes to fussy cut out.

I have then used these on my page, in clusters,
like they are hanging from a windchime.
I have then drawn in the strings for the feathers to hang from.

I have also doodled some beads in the frame of the windchime mandala.

I have curled the edges of the feathers slightly for a bit of dimension,
and the feel of movement.

I have then used a cut-up quote from the 'Dina Wakley Media Collage Word Pack'.
I am in love with these tissue paper quotes, they speak to me lol.

One of my favourite mixes of colours I think.
I hope that you like it too!
Maybe you'll get chance to play along with this month's challenge?

Until next time!

'Gorgeous'
for 2Crafty Chipboard

Hello!

I have a layout that I have created using a photo of my daughter and her friend,
with their flower crowns on, that I want to share with you.

I have created this for 2Crafty Chipboard.

'Gorgeous'

2Crafty Chipboard Products used:

I have started by giving my page a bit of a mixed media background.
I have also done a bit of fussy cutting of my papers.
I have used 49 & Market's 'Bold & Beautiful' collection.

I layered some of my papers and fussy cut elements.
I have then added a couple of the 'Leafy Shrub Set 2',
that I have heat embossed in white.

I have layered one of each side of my photo, among my papers and 'Wildflowers',
also from 49 & Market.

I have also used one of the 'Element Set 1', again heat embossed in white.
I have cut it in half and layered one to the left side and one to the top of my page.

On the right side, I have used the smallest clock from the '6 inch Clock Face Frames',
again finished in white and layered in among the fussy cut elements.

For my title I have used one of the words from the 'Fine Word Set 2',
again finished in white to match the rest of my pieces.

I'm very happy with how this layout came together,
the chipboard pieces worked perfectly with the feel of my layout.

I hope that you like what I have created,
and that it inspires you to find some crafty time today.

Until next time!

'Make Cool Things'
Art Journal Page
for Scrap Matrix

Hello all!

This month over at Scrap Matrix we have a fabulous new challenge for you.

Mandalas!

This is my art journal page based on the challenge.

I have started with a page in my 'Dylusions Creative Journal - Large'.
I have then given a coat of 'Liquitex White Gesso', to seal my page.

I have then used the gorgeous 'Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Acrylic Paints'
in 'Turquoise' to coat my page.

I have then used my 'TCW 6x6 Stencil - Skylight' and
'Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Acrylic Paint' in 'Prawn'.

I have then applied a mix of 'Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Acrylic Paints' in
'Prawn' and 'Pumpkin Soup', that I have blended with my
'Ranger Inkblending Tool'.

I have then used torn strips of pieces from the
'Art by Marlene Collage Papers #3',
that I have adhered to my page.

I have sponged and blended some 'Liquitex White Gesso',
over my page, to lighten the bright colours a bit.

I have started to add some doodles to my mandalas and paper strips.
I have also added some 'Dina Wakely Media Collage Word Pack',
that I have cut up and used on my page.

I have then gone back through with my 'Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Acrylic Paints',
to add some more colour around my page.

Finally, I have added some more doodling to finish my page.

So there are lots of layers to this page, but I felt it needed the depth of layers.

Adding doodles to the already existing patterns can also help
add depth to your layers.

I am in love with this Mandala stencil.
If you look there is sure to be more than one that you fall in love with.

I hope that you like what I have created.
I hope you get a chance to play along with us.

Until next time!

Lisa xoxo
