Splashes
Art Journal Cover

Hello there!
I am here today to share some splishing and splashing with you.

I have finally decorated the cover of my art journal!!
I have used the KISS method (Keep It Simple Silly!)

So this is the large 'Dylusions Creative Journal',
I have first given it a few thick coats of 'Liquitex Gesso',
to seal it, and give me a nice clean white base for my colours to stand out.

I stood it up on my desk, I wanted it to be a landscape orientation.
I have then used my 'Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays' in
Fuchsia, Marine, Eggplant, Lemon & Turquoise,
to spray and spill some colour,
letting them pool and drip.

I have then used an art journal sticker from the '13Arts Journey Stickers'

I love how the colours have blended and ran together in parts.
I also love how glossy these sprays are, no need for any gloss medium!

I have used another of the Journey Stickers on the bottom of the cover.
I have only done the first side so far,
but am planning on repeating it to the back sometime soon.

I hope you like what I have finally done to it.

Until next time!

Lisa

Turn mistakes into Beauty
Scrap Matrix

Hello all,
I am here today to share some inspiration with you.

I have created this art journal page for this month's challenge at

I have used the challenge as inspiration for this page.

I have started with a blank page in my art journal,
a quick coat of gesso to the page to seal it.

I have used my new 'Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays'
in Turquoise for the centre of the page, lots of sprays and splatters.
I have then used my Eggplant spray around the edge of the page.
Then I have used the White spray in the centre, as a base for my girl.

Once this had dried I used the 'Jane Davenport Faces Stamp',
to stamp her face out.
It has heaps of options for different facial features,
so I have stamped those also.
I have then used 'Dina Wakley Acrylic Paint in Lemon',
that I have watered down a little to give it some movement,
and I have painted and dribbled her hair on.
I have also used the 'Eggplant Spray' to paint her dress,
 and to colour her lips.

Lastly, I have used one of the quotes from the 'Dina Wakley Collage Words',
adhered to the top of my page.

I hope that you like what I have created,
and that it inspires you to get a little messy this month!

Until next time!

Lisa

Mini Madness Album

Hello all!
I'm here today to share some
Mini Madness inspiration with you for

I was lucky enough to receive this cute little mini album from Vicki.

I have created a little spread art journal spread.
I have kept it pretty simple, I find working on a small scale very challenging!

I have used the 'TCW Skylight Stencil',
and have sponged on some 'Dina Wakley Acrylic in 'Night'
I love the effect and colour! YUM!

Next, a coat of 'Dina Wakley Acrylic in Cheddar', onto some white cardstock.
I have then used the 'AAll & Create Stamp #35' to stamp out the chicken with black ink.

So cute!

I have then fussy cut the chicken out.
I also stamped out some flowers of this piece.

I have then stamped out the ballet shoes,
and the sentiment using 'Distress Ink in Mowed Lawn'.

I have then adhered all the pieces to my pages.
I am quite happy with how it turned out,
a little bit quirky!

I hope that you have liked what I created.
I can't wait to see what you all come up with for this challenge!

Until next time!

Scrap Matrix

Hello all!

I am here today to share some more challenge inspo with you..
Over at Scrap Matrix our challenge this month is all about
HOME.

Check out those gorgeous pieces of artwork by some fabulous artists!
Mine is a bit different to the style of these but the theme remains the same.

I have created an art journal page,
with a quote about home, that I love.

I have started by adding some of the 'Tim Holtz Rub Ons - Numbers',
onto my page. I have then added some colour using my
'Lindys Spray - Clam Bake Beige' for some aged colour.

Then I have added some more Lindy's Sprays in
'Shabby Turbine Teal' and 'Tibetan Poppy Teal',
 for some more colour.

I have added some stamping using my
'Blue Fern - Grungy Grid Stamp', and
'AAll & Create #3 Stamp'

I have added elements cut from the '7Dots Studio Fortune Teller Tarot Paper'
'Fortune Teller Die Cut Elements',
along with some layers from
Tim Holtz Ephemera Packs, 'Expedition' & 'Thrift Shop'

Some of the elements layered,
with one of the 'Tim Holtz Accoutrements Classic'

I have also used the 'Art by Marlene Storms Don't Last Stamps'.

One of the 'Flower Metals' layered with one of the 'Finnabair Mechanicals Star'

Some more rub ons added.

I have also used some of the 'Tim Holtz Small Talk Stickers' across my page.

More close ups :)

I love how this page turned out.
I hope that you like it too and that you get chance to play along this month,
there's still time :)

Until next time!

'Stay Home'
with Scrap Matrix

Hello all!
I'm here today to share my latest creation with you.

Our theme this month over at
Scrap Matrix
is all about HOME!

This is what I have created in my Art Journal

I have started with some hills painted using 'Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Paint' in 'Granny Smith'.
I then added in some sky in using 'Turquoise'.

I have cut my house from some of the papers in the 'Art by Marlene Collage #4'.
I have also fussy cut my bushes and flowers, and attic window,
 from these same collage papers.

I have used my 'Art by Marlene Watercolor Whimsy & Bright Set'
to paint in the path, and the roof of my house.

I have used some 'Dina Wakley Acrylic Paint' in 'Lemon', for my door.
I have used some of the '13Arts Journey Word Stickers' 'Marta's Small Words'
to add some very relevant sentiments to my page.

I have then added in a sun, and a plane with a banner telling us to STAY HOME!
A few clouds and some birds.
I have also outlined my house with a black pen, to make it stand out a little more ;)

I hope that you like what I have created.

Until next time!

Lisa xoxo

'Be You, Bravely'

Hello all!

I am here to share my latest art journal page with you.
I have created this for Bee Arty

'Be You, Bravely'

I have created this page in my journal,
I have started by using my 'Heavy Gesso' to seal my page.

I have then adhered pieces of the book paper and tissue paper,
left over from my 'Forever my Always' kit.

Up next some stencilling, for this I have used the 'Triangle Spray Stencil',
and 'Snow White Colour Paste'

Now for some colour. I have mixed together some
'Lagoon & Roadbase Colour Sprays',
to make a darker blue.
I have then used a water mister to dampen my page,
and then added some of my colours.

I have then added some stamping to my page using the script,
 from the 'Memories Stamp'
Next I used pieces from the 'Forever my Always papers',
to build up some centre layers.

I have fussy cut the bee from the same papers,
and layered it on a metal embellishment I had on hand.

Some more book paper strips and some word stickers to finish it off.

I am loving the layers of blue, grey and black,
that the sprays have created during mixing.

I hope that you like what I have created this time around.

I have used the following products:

Book & Tissue paper pieces

Until next time!

'Illuminate the Dark'
Scrap Matrix

Hello all!
It's Lisa here today with my second share for the month,
where we are celebrating our wonderful artist Tammy!

I am always in love with her bright, fun and whimsical pages!
This is what inspired me to create this art journal page.

With this page, I have started with a nice coat of Gesso for my page.
I have then used some Dina Wakley Acrylic in 'Lemon',
to paint a circle in the centre of my page.
I have then coated the rest of the page in 'Eggplant',
not quite joining the two colours, leaving a white rim.

I have then used the '7 Dots Studio Aspen Trees Stencil' and
'Dina Wakley Acrylic in Turquoise', to stencil over the yellow only.
I have then used the 'Finnabair Grungy Grid Stencil' (still my fave lol),
and black paint, randomly over the edges.

I have then adhered the wings, fussy cut from the '13Arts Journey Stickers',
to the centre of my page.
I have drawn in some zig zags around the edges.

I have then stamped my quote, using the 'Art by Marlene
Storms Don't Last Stamp Set' and Archival Ink.
Finally it was time to add the centrepiece, that gorgeous girl!

I have fussy cut her from the 'Art by Marlene Collage Papers #4',
and adhered her in the centre.
I have then added some movement lines for her wings,
and splattered some white ink around the circle.

I am really happy with how it turned out!
Isn't she gorgeous??

I hope you like her too,
and that she may have inspired you to create today!

Until next time

Lisa xoxo
